A massive wildfire burning in Bastrop County is believed to have been sparked by a nearby structure fire. Keri Hines, a spokesperson for the Texas A&M Forest Service, confirmed this to Austin's KXAN on Monday morning.

BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — An “extremely active” wildfire in Bastrop County is causing mandatory evacuations Sunday, according to county officials. The Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management said the Hudston Fire is south of Park Road 1C. This is between Bastrop State Park and Buescher State Park.

AUSTIN, Texas — Many people were forced to evacuate their homes as crews work to contain a 400-acre wildfire that started in Bastrop County Sunday afternoon. According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, the wildfire – named the Hudson Fire – began just after noon, eight miles east of Bastrop city limits and north of State Highway 71.
