There is not much to do as the area is pretty void of civilization. The one stop I could recommend is Goblin valley which is a Utah state park. There are also slot canyons in the area …

There is not much to do as the area is pretty void of civilization. The one stop I could recommend is Goblin valley which is a Utah state park. There are also slot canyons in the area which I find very cool but not sure about taking dogs. There are certainly stops you can get out and roam and as you get closer to lake Powell the terrain gets more intense formation wise.... not much more I can add, hope that helps

I refilled my hydro flask with the potable water & found it fine to drink. But you probably know that it’s fine since your post is from 2017.
