Quite a large beach in Newcastle. Can take dogs (and kids!). There's a nice walk beside the beach to the light house too. Beach is patrolled by lifeguards during the day- swim between the flags~ Full review by Kerryn72
I have bought tickets for the Foreshore concert here in November 2016. Whats a nice close park for us to stay in if we decide to bring our campervan up, otherwise some nice accomodation walking distance to stay in on the beach.

I also agree with the Stockton Beach Caravan Zoark. I know people who have stayed and found it good. Easy to get to snd then a quick ferry ride to Foreshore. There are a number of hotels depending on your budget - most already mentioned - also look at Quest or some nice short stays around Cooks Hill giving you walking access to eat street Darby Street snd the Foreshore

There is a cafe at Nobby's where you can get a decent burger, fish and chips etc and sit outside which can be quite lovely particularly in summer. Within 10 minutes walk you literally have about 50 restaurants so lots of choice either walking along the waterfront or in the streets that run parallel to this on Hunter and King Streets. My favourites are the Brewery and Scratchley's but they all are pretty much of a decent standard due to the competition. Alternatively just bring a salad from home in your esky. There are covered tables and chairs at Nobby's and the view is spectacular and you talk a very relaxing stroll out to the lighthouse or along the beach.
