The ingredients are Laoshan spring water with malted barley, rice and yeast. Originally following the German method and ingredients (adhering to a 500-year-old German beer law that stated only water, barley, and hops could be used to brew beer), it was revised when the Japanese took over the area from the Germans after WW1 due to the Versailles Treaty (sparking mass protests, the May 4th movement and roots of the subsequent revolution). Another trivial pursuit is that it was the first time a swastika (reversed) was used (in early1900's) on a German product. And final trivial pursuit - why is it Tsing Tao and not Qing Dao (pronounced Ching Dao)? Because the French ran the post office, and used their version of roman letters for Chinese names - much to the chagrin and anger of the British boss(Robert Hart) of the Frenchman, Théophile Piry - French-British animosity even then, and birth to the name of the world's 3rd most popular beer!

If you Google "Qingdao China City bus routes," there is a search engine on the bus website where you can input your nearest bus-stop and your destination and it will tell you which buses to take, where to transfer etc. If you don't know where the nearest bus stop is located, I suggest you contact the hotel and ask for the name of the nearest bus stop. I also agree with the other answers, it's difficult to spend more that 3 to 5 US dollars on a taxi from most points in the city, (from downtown, near the sailing Center, even the airport is about 12 to 16 US dollars) and I would note that, although the bus recording does announce stops in English and Mandarin, the pronunciation of many stops in English can be difficult to recognize. One last suggestion, Google the place you're going and if your cell phone can't capture the page, photograph it to show to the taxi driver and get a business card from your hotel before leaving. That way, no Mandarin skills are necessary.
